INDIVIDUAL CAREER SERVICES
DEFINING SUCCESS & CAREER SATISFACTION
Career Architect Consulting Services can help you discover how to achieve increased success and satisfaction through your work. Through a defined process, you will explore your skills, interests, personality traits, values, and past work experiences. As you identify the value you bring to your current - or future - employer, you will clarify your career goals and how to communicate those goals to others.
WHO ENGAGES A CAREER COACH?
Individual clients can be currently employed, unemployed, in college or newly graduated, returning to the workforce after an absence, or looking at a post-retirement career.
Services are delivered in
- Individual (1:1) coaching sessions
- Group Workshops
Often members find they get the best results from combining the two options.

FINDING JOB SECURITY IN TODAY'S WORLD
Workers used to look to employers to provide "security." As long as we came to work, didn't make huge mistakes, and didn't cause disruptions, we generally weren't at risk of losing our jobs. Since the early-to-mid 1980's however, downsizing has become a regular occurrence. Companies are sold, merged, closed, relocated and reorganized on a regular basis. What is a "stable" company today may be in transition tomorrow. Being a "good employee" or "loyal employee" no longer guarantees continued employment.
At
Career Architect Consulting Services, we show you how you can find "job security" through enhancing your
EMPLOYABILITY. We guide you in understanding what your profession and industry require and assist you in identifying how you add value - and can continue to add value - for your current and future employers. Most importantly, you will gain the confidence in your ability to find another job, if you ever need to or want to take the next step toward your career goals. Employability does not mean you will never change jobs or be impacted by a downsizing. It means you will be prepared for a job change. You will know your value and be able to effectively articulate the information to key people.
Today, job security means that we no longer have to look to someone else to provide us with a sense of well-being. We now create it, own it, and bring it with us from job to job.
Career Architect provides a variety of programs and services that will support you in managing your own career.

Success & Performance Coaching
Are you doing well in your job but just want to prepare for future opportunities? Are you feeling as though something is lacking in your job? Have you become disengaged? Do you feel as though you cannot contribute in the way you would prefer? Have you been successful in the past but have recently received negative feedback from your boss or colleagues?
Success Coaching isn't just for employees who are struggling. Working with a coach can give you the skills and tools to get back on track and/or to continue to be successful. Understanding what personal behaviors and job elements support or hinder your ongoing success is critical in creating your career development strategy.
While employed, individual coaching sessions can help improve your effectiveness on the job. Packages are customized for individual professional goals. Sample areas of work include:
- Decision-making
- Time management
- Prioritizing
- Interpersonal communication
- Team work
- Career assessments
- Career research and related tools
- Career strategy

Transition Coaching
Losing a job and the process of successfully finding another can be challenging, even for the most resilient individual. Even when the change is self-generated or due to a pleasant situation (for example: a welcomed semi-retirement, relocation, time off for school or family obligations) it is often accompanied by anxiety and uncertainty.
Learning how to recognize and manage the emotional side of the process is critical for long-term success.

Assessments
Assessments and Inventories are tools that help you gather data about yourself. They do not supply the "answers" to your career questions. They do, however, provide great insight and often open up possibilities for where and how you can use your skills, interests and abilities. Assessments are a great way to recognize patterns in your work history so you can find the job in the environment that is right for you.
- Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
This assessment is very helpful for understanding your preferred behavioral styles. Learn how your personality type can support your success and when you may be ineffective. Begin your career exploration with the related careers report.
Strong Interest Inventory (SII) Our interests can play a big part in whether we are engaged in our work. Learn how to leverage your interests to increase your chances of success.
Values Assessment. Have you ever felt like a fish out of water at work? The same job (by title or job description) can feel extremely different in different companies (or even within different departments of the same company). To maximize your chances of success and satisfaction, it is very important to find companies that have a culture in which you can thrive.
Skills / Interest Inventories. This fun exercise helps you look at your skills in a new way. It's not about what you CAN DO or HAVE DONE, it's recognizing what you want to CONTINUE TO DO.
Decision-Making Inventories. Whether you have enjoyed your work or if you've disliked most of your jobs or employers, it is valuable to identify how you came to be in your current situation. Only by identifying the path that brought us here, can we minimize the things that don't work for us and replicate the things that support our success.
At Career Architect Consulting Services, you will work with consultants who are trained in the appropriate use and interpretation of these instruments. Always be sure you know the credentials of the person who is administering such assessments.
